Structural Inspection
The Dallas Fort Worth area is tormented by some of the most highly expansive clay soils found anywhere in the United States. The slab, foundation and structure of homes and buildings in the DFW area are subject to structural distress and damage due to the instability of these expansive clay soils. Homes and buildings of any age are subject, over time, to climatic conditions, ground shifting, warping, and more.
Our structural engineering inspection service offers an inspection of the structural components of the home or building. The structural components, which consist of the foundation and structural framing, are typically the most expensive to repair. Our structural inspectors are licensed Professional Engineers. All structural engineering reports will include an elevation survey of the home or building's foundation and computer generated drawing of the foundation with our measurements.
The determination of squareness, levelness, and plumbness can be included in such an evaluation. Soil investigation and invasive testing is generally not included unless otherwise recommended or designated in writing but is available should you request it. Other systems, such as plumbing, electrical, mechanical, or interior are also not evaluated as part of a standard structural engineers report, but may be discussed with your inspector.
In addition to a structural inspection of a home or building, Criterium-Dotson Engineers also specializes in structural evaluation and repair plans for swimming pool structures.
Regardless of the structural problem, whether a small residential issue or a large commercial project, Criterium-Dotson Engineers can provide you with a Plan of Repair in order to get the problem solved to restore structural integrity to the system or component and in order for you to obtain apples to apples repair bids.
